Dennis D. Burns, founder of The Law Offices of Dennis D. Burns was born in a small town in Eastern Iowa. One of six children, Dennis helped farm the family’s sharecrop farm. Farming taught Dennis the value of hard work and integrity. In 1960 his family moved to San Diego, California where Dennis excelled in academics and was determined to be a State of California, Certified Gifted Child at the age of seven.  As a California State Scholarship recipient, he earned a bachelor’s degree in English in three years after graduating high school in 1972.  Dennis was selected as a California State Fellow in Law for the years 1975-1978 and attended California Western School of Law in San Diego.  He received his Juris Doctorate degree from California Western School of Law in 1978 and began his law practice at the age of 24.

Since being admitted to the California State Bar in 1979 Dennis has been a private practitioner for over 40 years.  During that time he has provided for the legal needs of the very poor and the affluent in the fields of estate planning, business organization, civil litigation, and bankruptcy. Dennis has two sons one of whom is a local firefighter and one of who is a Federal Law Enforcement officer.  Dennis has six young grandchildren who live locally. He enjoys spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow up.

An avid Scuba Diver, Photographer and Boater, Dennis has recently been credited with discovering the wreckage of a Korean War Era A-1 Skyraider Navy Attack Aircraft lost for over sixty years just off the coast of San Diego.  At the website dedicated to this discovery, Dennis brings to light the actions of a brave veteran of two wars who risked his own life to avoid injury to others.
